Davidson River and the Pisgah Ranger District provide access to national forest trails near Brevard. The Pisgah National Forest and Pisgah Ranger District entries overlap. Pisgah Area SORBA maintains much of the trail system.
Bracken Preserve is a 400 acre City of Brevard park connected to the national forest by Forest Service Road 475-C. Check the city's access notices.
DuPont State Recreational Forest has forested singletrack and exposed granite domes. Follow its wet-weather guidance: if you leave tire marks, the trail is too wet. Wet granite can be slippery.
North Mills River provides access to the northern Pisgah Ranger District, closer to Mills River and Hendersonville than Brevard.
Kanuga Bike Park is a downhill bike park near Hendersonville. Riding needs a valid pass, and trails are open sunrise to sunset. Ride Kanuga sells day and season passes.
Bent Creek Experimental Forest is a US Forest Service research forest near Asheville. Bikes must stay on signed, designated trails to protect research plots.
Big Ivy, also called the Coleman Boundary, is north of Asheville in the Appalachian Ranger District. It has rugged, technical riding along FS 74.
Chestnut Mountain Nature Park is a Canton town park that includes Berm Park's flow and jump trails. The two entries share a location.
Fire Mountain Trails is on the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians' Qualla Boundary in Cherokee. It is well west of Brevard and needs its own weather check.
Beech Mountain Bike Park and Rocky Knob are near Boone in the High Country. Beech Mountain is a lift-served resort; Rocky Knob is a free Watauga County park. Check seasonal access and mountain weather.
Zacks Fork is a City of Lenoir mountain bike trail in the foothills, far northeast of Brevard. Check its conditions separately.
Saluda Confluence Recreation Area is near Travelers Rest, South Carolina, on lower ground south of Brevard. It is managed by Greenville County.
The U.S. National Whitewater Center is on the Catawba River west of Charlotte, far east of Brevard on lower Piedmont ground. Trails are free to ride; parking has a fee, and the Center closes trails in wet conditions.
Steele Creek Park in Bristol, Tannery Knobs in Johnson City, Warriors Path State Park and Bays Mountain Park near Kingsport, and the Hampton Watershed trails in Carter County are in Tennessee's Tri-Cities. Check their conditions separately from Brevard.

DuPont State Recreational Forest: its manager describes a mix of singletrack, doubletrack and gravel roads open to bikes, with named bike exclusions. Check the current closure list and choose a permitted route.
Bracken Preserve: the City identifies this preserve west of downtown Brevard as open to nonmotorized biking. Use the City map and access notices for a compact local option.

DuPont's FAQ says closures can affect a single trail, all singletrack, or the whole forest and lists specific roads/trails that may remain open when singletrack is closed; use only the current official list. If Pisgah is wet or restricted, do not assume Bracken or DuPont shares the same status.
