This page includes sandstone trails around Sedona, open ground toward the Verde Valley, and forested Mingus Mountain above Jerome and Cottonwood. Those areas differ in elevation, shade, and weather. Snow can remain on Mingus when trails around town are dry.

Broken Arrow is close to central Sedona and includes Hog Wash and Hog Heaven. It is managed by the Red Rock Ranger District.
Schnebly Hill follows the old wagon road east of town and includes the expert-level Hangover Trail. The Red Rock Ranger District manages the land.
Dry Creek is on Sedona's west side and includes the Mescal and Chuckwagon loops. It is managed by the Red Rock Ranger District.
Western Gateway is beside Dry Creek on Sedona's west side, in the Red Rock Ranger District.
Carroll Canyon is near the high school, south of Dry Creek, in the Red Rock Ranger District.
The Village of Oak Creek area includes Bell Rock, Slim Shady, Templeton, and the expert-level Hiline Trail. It is managed by the Red Rock Ranger District.
This lower, open network is in the Verde Valley toward Cottonwood, along the Lime Kiln Trail between Red Rock and Dead Horse Ranch state parks.
Mingus Mountain is above Jerome and Cottonwood in the Prescott National Forest's Verde Ranger District. Expect ponderosa forest and mountain weather, with different closures from Sedona.

A different Sedona-side network is not an automatic wet-weather substitute. Follow posted closures, verify passes/parking at the chosen trailhead, and do not continue onto soft tread. Mingus Mountain is a separate destination with its own weather/access check.
